The Bundesvereinigung der Erzeugerorganisationen Obst und Gemüse e. V. (BVEO) will host the next Prognosfruit from August 5 to 7, 2026, in Konstanz, Germany. The annual congress, which takes place in different countries each year, is regarded as the industry meeting place for pome fruit producers worldwide and will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year. "Prognosfruit has been a fixture in the pome fruit sector's calendar for many years. We are delighted to have the opportunity to host it in its anniversary year," says BVEO Managing Director Dr. Christian Weseloh. The Lake Constance region is the ideal venue for this event, as it was also the location of the first congress in 1976.

Apple and pear producers have been facing major challenges for some time now. Prognosfruit is therefore approaching the issue with a clear goal in mind: "Climate change is making harvest yields increasingly difficult to predict. Regulatory restrictions on plant protection products and spiraling production costs are making cultivation even more difficult. Discussing these issues and finding solutions together is both our mission and our strength," Weseloh is convinced.
Prognosfruit 2025 is currently taking place in Angers, France, and BVEO is also in attendance. As every year, producers, processors, and traders from Europe and around the world have responded to the call to spend three days networking and discussing current developments in the sector. The estimates published by the World Apple and Pear Association (WAPA) for the upcoming apple and pear harvest season in Europe were also eagerly awaited. These amount to 10.5 million tons for apples and 1.79 million tons for pears for the 2025/2026 season.
