Dirk-Jan Polak (Hazera):

"Mild radish variety fits in with healthy snacks like cherry tomatoes and cucumbers"

Dirk-Jan Polak, Crop Sales Manager Benelux at Hazera, is championing radishes on social media. "The image of radishes needs an update, as their flavour changes throughout the seasons, from mild in winter to sharp in summer, but that is about to change."

"The summer period is the most challenging time to grow radishes, which is why we go all out when it comes to quality. Thanks to targeted breeding and dedicated work in the field, we are continuously taking our radish varieties to the next level. We are therefore proud of the development of this new mild radish variety. 34-569 is beautifully white, less sharp, and with its accessible taste, it fits perfectly into the range of healthy snacks such as cherry tomatoes or snack cucumbers. With this, we are also appealing to a new group of consumers who would normally find radishes too sharp in flavour," said Polak.
