Fontestad closes the year with a 6.9 million euro profit

The Valencian citrus distribution company Fontestad finished the 2023/2024 season with a revenue of 193 million euros, 8.4% more than in the previous year. According to the annual reports filed with the Commercial Registry, this growth is attributed to increased demand across the different markets where the group operates.

In its management report, the company states that the turnover met the objectives of its strategic plan and that the company has generated the necessary cash flows to meet its financial commitments and investments. It also faces the new financial year with a positive outlook.

Fontestad's consolidated result also experienced significant progress, reaching a net profit of 6.9 million euros, 25.4% more than the 5.5 million recorded in the previous season.

Currently, Fontestad operates in 16 countries. Spain, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom are its main export destinations. It has an average workforce of 1,413 workers. The company has agreements with large distribution chains and food retailers, with whom it signs contracts at the start of the season to set volumes, prices, and supply conditions.

In 2024, the company strengthened its presence in the domestic market, generating revenues of 124.2 million euros. Its export activity also grew, reaching 47.2 million euros. Meanwhile, turnover in the intra-EU market declined significantly, from 50 million to 20 million euros.

The group is made up of several companies: Fontestad Citrus, responsible for production and distribution in Spain; Fontestad France, responsible for distribution in the European Union; and Fontestad Energy focused on the operation of photovoltaic installations and the production and sale of electricity.

In addition, the group's parent company is part of the board of directors of Zuvamesa, where it holds the vice-chairmanship. This company produces and markets juices and fruit products.
