Ukraine blueberry prices 2.6 times higher than 2024

By the end of last week, Ukrainian growers began harvesting open-field blueberries, according to analysts from the EastFruit project. This year, the season started approximately 10 days later than in 2024 due to abnormal weather conditions at the end of spring. Nevertheless, current farmgate prices for blueberries remain higher than during the same period last year.

As of now, the supply of domestically grown blueberries on the Ukrainian market remains quite limited. At the same time, demand for the berry is relatively high. Wholesale lots of open-field blueberries are currently being sold at UAH 300–450 per kilogram (€7.17–10.76/kg). A more active influx of blueberries from Ukrainian farms is expected starting next week.

Despite the gradual decline in prices within this segment, blueberry prices on the domestic Ukrainian market remain, on average, 2.6 times higher than at the beginning of the 2024 season. Growers attribute this price difference to a reduction in total harvest volumes caused by unfavorable weather conditions during the berry's ripening period.
