Exclusive table grape production agreement signed in Ecuador

SanLucar, a supplier of fruit and vegetables, has signed an exclusive production and export agreement with Sun World, a company known for variety innovation and development. The agreement focuses on the development and production of new table grape varieties and other crops in Ecuador.

SanLucar has been active in Ecuador for several years, aiming to build a sustainable and efficient agricultural model. This new agreement enables SanLucar to integrate access to Sun World's proprietary genetic material into its production chain. The company will combine its experience in fruit cultivation and distribution with Sun World's breeding expertise.

Under the agreement, SanLucar will not only grow the licensed varieties on its own farms but will also be able to sublicense production rights to other growers in Ecuador. This arrangement may support broader development within Ecuador's fruit sector by encouraging participation from additional producers.

The expansion into Ecuador adds to SanLucar's existing operations across Europe, Africa, and other regions, contributing to year-round supply capabilities for international markets. The agreement also includes a focus on consistent production practices and variety diversification.

Armin Rehberg, CEO of SanLucar, commented that the partnership with Sun World aligns with the company's approach to integrating innovation with agricultural development. The agreement is part of ongoing efforts to expand access to new fruit varieties and reinforce production networks globally.
