In 2024, Spanish berry exports registered a 6% year-on-year increase in volume and a 12% increase in value, totaling 411,879 tons and 1,912 million euros, respectively. In this context, the tenth edition of the International Berry Congress, organized by Freshuelva (Huelva's Association of Strawberry Producers and Exporters, Freshuelva), will be held in Huelva on June 18 and 19.
Strawberries continue to be the most exported berry. In 2024, strawberry exports stood at 255,375 tons (+1% over 2023) for 788.5 million euros (+10%). Blueberries followed with 87,326 tons (+17.5%) and 555 million euros (+13%), and raspberries with 60,960 tons (+9%) and 529 million euros (+15%).
Blackberry exports have grown in recent years and in 2024 stood at 6,742 tons (+45%) and 36 million euros (+21%). Gooseberries close the top 5 by volume with 1,476 tons (+12%) and 3.7 million euros (-27%), according to data from the Customs and Excise Department, processed by Fepex.
