The 2025 International Blueberry Market Yearbook, prepared by iQonsulting, reports that the southern hemisphere exported 436,431 tons of blueberries in the 2024/25 season, 28% more than in the previous season.
Peru was the main exporter of fresh blueberries, with 317,847 tons, 42% more than in the previous season. Chile ranked second with 90,647 tons (+5%).
North America was the main destination of the southern hemisphere's blueberries, importing 217,986 tons (+26%). European imports also increased by 26%, standing at 151,653 tons.
The Yearbook, sponsored by Frutas de Chile and Fedefruta, is a free publication that provides updated data on exports and prices.
Prices experienced downward adjustments in the 2024/25 season after the increase recorded in 2023/24 due to lower Peruvian supply linked to weather phenomena. Mexico achieved the highest prices in the United States market, $28/kg in October, benefiting from delays in the Peruvian harvest. Chile began shipments at $4/kg, rising to $12/kg in April.
In Europe, Peru obtained a maximum of €19.5/kg during September and October, while Morocco reached €14.3/kg in March. Chilean blueberries started at €6/kg in January, rising to €12.3/kg in March.
Peru, Chile, Morocco, and Mexico are making progress in varietal replacement, focusing on varieties that offer firmness, a long post-harvest life, better flavor, and higher yields to increase competitiveness and meet the demands of different markets.
