Preliminary estimates from the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fisheries indicate that Tunisia's 2025 summer stone fruit harvest is projected to reach 251,500 tons, reflecting a 2.8% increase from 244,700 tons in the previous season.
There is a slight decrease in cultivated areas, now at 197,500 hectares compared to 201,800 hectares in 2024, marking a 2.1% drop.
The peach harvest for the current season is estimated at 121,000 tons, a slight decrease from 122,300 tons in the previous season. The plum harvest is expected to reach 42,700 tons, a 4.7% increase on the previous season. Meanwhile, the dry almond harvest is projected to reach around 56,500 tons, up from 45,200 tons in 2024, indicating a substantial increase of 25%.
Plum production is expected to reach approximately 17,000 tons, marking a 10.5% decrease from the previous season.
Data from the Department of Agriculture shows that national cherry production increased by 6.1% to 9,600 tons. In contrast, the medlar harvest decreased by 12.7% to 2,750 tons compared to 3,150 tons in the 2024 season.
