Pascal Boutin, General Manager of Royal:

"We are starting the stone fruit season with new packaging that sets the fruit's colors apart"

The Seville-based company Royal has always been one of the first to start with the stone fruit season. "Since April, when we started delivering the first peaches and nectarines, we have been present in various markets with our usual flavor," says Pascal Boutin, Royal's General Manager.

"Despite the bad weather, which has delayed the start of the season by a few days, we have managed to obtain good volumes and sizes, meeting the standards we set for our products. This has led the markets to bet firmly on our fruit," says Pascal Boutin.

"Peaches, nectarines, and soon also the Royal Sanguine®, our red-fleshed nectarine, as well as the interspecifics Metis® and Pluot®, which this year will have new features, will continue to stand out on European shelves. This market increasingly values consistency in the stone fruit season, especially if you offer a good flavor from the beginning to the end of the season," says Pascal Boutin.

New packaging for differentiation between fruit colors
In 2025, Royal is introducing the first stone fruit packaging on the market that sets the fruit's colors apart: yellow for yellow-fleshed nectarines and peaches, beige for the white-fleshed ones, and deep red for the Royal Sanguine.

"This not only enhances the brand image, but also visually helps consumers to identify their favorite fruits," says Pascal Boutin. "We want to bring the light of the Sevillian sun and the color of our fruit to the shelves of retailers all over the world. We are committed to differentiation and to promoting the value of our products to facilitate our brand's recognition and, above all, to allow consumers to easily identify the fruit they want."

To achieve this, the company has designed a strategic visual framework based on the classic values of agriculture, with original illustrations dating back over 50 years, and made a selection of colors that represent the flesh of each fruit at its optimum point of ripeness.

They are making use of wooden boxes, biodegradable cardboard boxes, paper fruit stickers, paper labels..., visual tools that are also made of compostable, natural, and 100% recyclable materials.

"Royal will continue working on the 're-evolution' of all its packaging formats. By implementing this new visual and sustainable strategy, it aims to be one of the leading companies in the promotion of environmentally-friendly tools and build a reputation as a defender of traditional working methods to achieve the best quality, as well as innovation to be able to offer fruit that exceeds consumer expectations," says the company's General Manager.
