The new yellow and red Actinidia Chinensis plants are currently being planted. The trend in recent years has led more and more producers to opt for the Bounty 71 rootstock, given its greater resistance to problems such as kiwi decline, which has been decimating production fields in recent years.

"Vivai F.lli Zanzi has chosen to concentrate solely on Bounty for both bare-root and pot plants. The better root performance obtained with this type of material has convinced us - and the growers who have chosen to trust us so far - of the goodness of cuttings in comparison with material from different types of propagation. Plants grow healthy and vigorous and suffer less from the problems that can occur when planting in open fields," explains owner and agronomist Giovanni Zanzi.
"Our company is licensed to reproduce the varieties of Zespri G3 Sungold, M33 and M91 of which we have material grafted in 2024, with one year of development and growth in the pot, which has allowed greater colonisation by the roots and a development of the aerial part such that the size and strength of the main stem is improved. All these characteristics serve to obtain full production in less time and with less effort. We also have plants grafted this year in February from cuttings bred from 2024, which will be ready for sale around mid-June for planting."
