The United States recorded a rise in agricultural exports to Morocco, totalling $610.17 million in 2023, as per the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Over the last three years, the average export value stood at $592.65 million. From 2014 to 2023, the compound average growth rate was 3.9%, marking the decade's peak.
The export values for the preceding years were $603.43 million in 2022, $564.34 million in 2021, and $477.06 million in 2020, with a notable dip to $298.64 million in 2019 from $586.57 million in 2018. Tree nuts emerged as the second most exported category to Morocco, with imports reaching 32,381 tons valued at $137.03 million in 2023, witnessing a 1755% increase over the past decade.
Morocco stands as the 36th largest market for US agricultural exports, bolstered by a free trade agreement initiated on June 15, 2004, and enacted on January 1, 2006. Efforts are underway to update the two-decade-old FTA, enhancing the trade dynamics between the two nations.
