Price trends in the Mekong Delta: Chili surges, jackfruit drops

In the Mekong Delta region, the price of chili has seen a significant increase, with current rates ranging from VND45,000 to VND50,000 per kilogram, marking an upsurge of VND10,000 to VND12,000 from the previous month.

Conversely, the area witnesses a decline in the prices of Thai and Indonesian red-flesh jackfruit. Specifically, the selling price for Thai jackfruit type 1 at gardens is between VND23,000 and VND25,000 per kilogram, and type 2 ranges from VND11,000 to VND13,000 per kilogram. Indonesian red-flesh jackfruit type 1 is priced around VND90,000 to VND95,000 per kilogram, with type 2 at approximately VND80,000 per kilogram.

Despite the drop in Thai jackfruit prices due to slow exports, it remains a relatively profitable crop for gardeners in the region. Additionally, the prices for durians, including Ri6 and Thai varieties, have shown an upward trend since mid-June. In the Southeast and Central Highlands regions, the prices for these durians vary, with Ri6 and Ri6 Xo durians trading between VND48,000 and VND65,000 per kilogram, and Thai durians between VND90,000 and VND95,000 per kilogram depending on the area.
