The Pahang state government has established a Pesticide Control and Plant Protection Committee to oversee pesticide residue in vegetables and fruits. This initiative, led by Razali Kassim, aims to implement stringent guidelines for monitoring from the production stage to market distribution.
Participants in the agricultural sector are required to obtain necessary approvals, licenses, and certifications such as MyGAP. Additionally, training for farm owners and workers is mandated to ensure safe pesticide handling and to maintain traceable records. The committee's strategy includes collaboration with various agencies including the Land and Mines Office, Local Council, and State Agriculture Department. Razali encouraged consumers to select produce with the MyGAP logo or Organic Certificates approved by the Agriculture Department or Health Ministry.
