Moldova allows Gagauz farmers to export fruits to the Russian market

The National Food Safety Agency of Moldova has approved the export of products from the Gagauz farmers to the Russian market. This was announced by the head of the agricultural complex department of Gagauzia, Sergey Ibrishim, on May 21, noting that the relevant documents have already been obtained for fruit and table grape producers. He explained that now farmers can freely export their products to the Russian Federation.

Earlier, Rosselkhoznadzor had banned exports, but now all permits have been obtained. This applies to such products as apricots, cherries, sweet cherries, and apples.

In April, Russia opened its market for fruit and vegetable products grown in Gagauzia, the region in the south of Moldova.

Rosselkhoznadzor's decision applies to all agricultural enterprises operating in this region.
