Last year also saw a decline in imports to Kuzbass

Russia: vegetable imports to Kuzbass halved

Since the beginning of 2024, Kuzbass has imported 1100 tons of pre-quarantined products from abroad.

Import of fruit and vegetable products in the Kemerovo region decreased by half compared to the same period in 2023 (2100 tons, according to Rosselkhoznadzor). This trend has been ongoing since last year.

Kazakhstan remains the leading exporter of vegetables and fruits to Kuzbass. From there, 630 tons of onions, 66 tons of tomatoes, 540 tons of cabbage, 42 tons of carrots, and 120 tons of sunflower seeds were imported.

Only 20 tons of vegetables were brought from Kyrgyzstan: 17.3 tons of cabbage, 1.4 tons of radishes, and 1.3 tons of carrots.

From France, 147 tons of onion sets were imported into the region.
