APMC Pune sees stability in most vegetable prices

In Pune's Gultekdi, the Agricultural Produce Market Committee witnessed a notable increase in vegetable truck arrivals, reaching 110 on Sunday due to the market's closure on adjacent days. This surge impacted produce prices differently. Okra, guar, cauliflower, cabbage, brinjal, and capsicum prices rose by 5-10% owing to reduced imports and elevated demand, whereas garlic prices saw a downturn.

However, Senior Adte Vilas Shujba I confirmed the stability of most vegetable prices. Vegetable imports varied, with green chillies, cabbage, and groundnut pods arriving from states like Karnataka and Gujarat. In the fruit sector, despite a decrease in lemon prices, melon costs went up, but other fruits like pineapple and apple maintained their price levels. The market welcomed seven trucks of pineapples and substantial quantities of oranges and pomegranates from Kerala, showcasing a diverse agricultural import scene.
