Hundreds of tractors will enter Valencia on Thursday as part of the agricultural sector's protests

Hundreds of tractors and over a thousand individuals are set to take part in the protests called for this Thursday at 10:30 AM at the Port of Valencia by all agricultural organizations of the Region of Valencia (AVA-ASAJA, ASAJA Alicante, LA UNIÓ Llauradora i Ramadera, CCPV-COAG and UPA-PV). It will also have the support of Cooperativas Agro-alimentàries de la Comunitat Valenciana. Producers from ASAJA Albacete and ASAJA Cuenca will also join the Valencia protest.

The tractors will enter the city of Valencia via three different routes: from the south of the port precinct, from El Palmar; via the Avenida del Puerto, from the exits in Carlet, Alzira, and Cullera; and via the north roundabout from Puçol, crossing numerous towns with agricultural activity. The tractor convoys will converge at the Clock Building of the Port of Valencia, where the convening entities will address the attendees.

In their third joint protest in just one week, the Valencian agricultural sector will ask "the Valencian and Spanish Governments and the European Union for changes in agricultural and environmental policies, taking into account the opinions of producers. They demand the protection of local productions, reciprocity with the imports from third countries and for effective controls to be carried out to prevent the entry of new pests and diseases."
