Ukraine's path to food security:

D. Solomchuk advocates for the construction of modern vegetable storehouses

Dmytro Solomchuk, a member of the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy, emphasizes the need to construct 140-150 modern vegetable storehouses to ensure Ukraine's food security. According to Solomchuk, this initiative will enable the country to become independent of imported produce, especially during spring, ensuring a consistent supply of domestic products.

Solomchuk underscores the significance of this approach, guaranteeing the availability of Ukrainian products on store shelves at all times. Currently, many producers store their goods in less than optimal conditions, potentially compromising the quality, and the need for imports may arise as early as April.

The deputy pledges that the Ministry of Economy will provide more grants for processing and equipment to support the agricultural sector. He underscores the importance of producing local agricultural products as a sign of food independence.

Simultaneously, Solomchuk notes that farmers are actively working in the de-occupied territories, thanks to the efforts of the State Emergency Service and military demining specialists. International partners are supplying the necessary equipment and mobile storage facilities to preserve agricultural products, and also training Ukrainian farmers in demining processes.
