Chelsea bans celery tradition after Arsenal player got hit by vegetable

Chelsea FC fans had a peculiar tradition of throwing celery during matches, notably reaching its peak during the 2007 League Cup final against Arsenal. This bizarre custom was inspired by a chant from the 1980s, popularized by notorious Chelsea fan Mickey Greenaway, humorously involving celery.

The situation escalated when Arsenal player Cesc Fabregas was hit by celery while playing, leading to a pause in the game. In response, Chelsea banned the vegetable from Stamford Bridge and even established a hotline to report anyone bringing celery into the stadium. While the tradition has waned, remnants of it occasionally appear, especially during away games.
