Musang King durian sells for $40,000 at Malaysian charity auction

A Musang King durian was sold for no less than astounding $40,000 at a charity auction in Raub, Malaysia. The event was held last Sunday; it saw bidders drive the price of the fruit, with the highest bid made by Huang Qi Wen. Another variety of durian, the Black Thorn, also fetched a significant price of RM15,000, making it the second-highest bid of the day.

The proceeds generated a total of over RM404,400, which was donated to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sungai Ruan, a school in Raub. The funds are aimed at enhancing the school’s educational infrastructure, a much-needed boost for the local community’s youth.
