Nonsan City announced on December 14 that it plans to transform the cultivation of lettuce, targeting the European market by production efficiency.
Lettuce, in specific the European-style lettuce, has become one of the region's representative income crops, to produce and ship lettuce for export to foreign countries, including Taiwan.
To this end, Nonsan City announced that it is building a smart farm to meet this demand. In particular, Nonsan City wants to expand the supply of European-style lettuce. European-style lettuce grown in vertical farms is characterized by a shorter seeding period than regular lettuce, resulting in higher production efficiency.
