Queensland growers are preparing for Tropical Cyclone Jasper

As Tropical Cyclone Jasper is moving to far north Queensland, it is set to hit one of Australia’s most productive farming regions.

According to FNQ Growers President Joe Moro, preparations are being made for the expected wild weather: “We’re harvesting right now, trying to get as much fruit we can before we have to stop tomorrow. Some people have pulled out pumps, some of the larger growers have taken off nets, the securing netting. This is general preparedness, but it depends where the cyclone crosses.”
