Lviv region is expanding its agricultural production for export to the EU, focusing on berries and nuts

Under the "Own Orchard" program, over 73 hectares of blueberry plantations have been established, the largest among all Ukrainian regions participating in the support program.

Grant funds have enabled a 20-hectare increase in garden strawberry cultivation. Additionally, 10 hectares of raspberries and 10 hectares of apple orchards have been planted.

Local farmers strategically choose crops based on regional climate and market trends. Emphasizing blueberries and nuts is driven by their export orientation, especially given the region's proximity to the EU – a major global market. The favourable climate allows for cost-effective large-scale cultivation.

Since the program's launch in July 2022, 13 Lviv region enterprises have received nearly UAH 60 million in grants, contributing to the planting of 217 hectares of new fruit orchards.
