Surge in cedar nut exports from the Tomsk region in 2023

Since the beginning of 2023, specialists from the Rosselkhoznadzor in the Novosibirsk and Tomsk regions have issued phytosanitary certificates for the export of cedar nuts from the Tomsk region. The total volume of exported batches reached 3,684 tons, with 433 tons shipped in November alone. Compared to the same period in 2022, the export volume has increased by 1.8 times.

Most of the valuable wild forest nuts harvested in the region were destined for buyers in China. In the current year, 2,443 tons were shipped to China, a notable increase from the 1,922 tons exported in 2022.

In addition to China, shipments of this product reached various countries, including the Republic of Kazakhstan (920 tons), Latvia (192 tons), Turkey (40 tons), the Czech Republic (40 tons), Spain (20 tons), the Republic of Belarus (21 tons), and Serbia (5 tons). Cedar nuts were also exported to the United Arab Emirates and Armenia.

All exported batches met the requirements of importing countries, a fact confirmed by research conducted in the laboratory of the subordinate institution to Rosselkhoznadzor - the Tomsk branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "VNIIKR."
