The MIN partners with 6 athletes

Sport: Rungis promotes "healthy eating"

Yesterday, Rungis Market announced that it was backing six French athletes as they prepare for upcoming sporting events.

"Through this partnership, Rungis Market will offer these top athletes two baskets of fresh produce per month, featuring all the products sold at the MIN. Rungis Market has formed a partnership with canoeist Marjorie Delassus, handisport basketball player Sofyane Mehjaoui, judo players Luka Mkheidze and Cédric Olivar, handisport swimmer Kylian Portal and rock climber Capucine Viglione. This unique collaboration was kicked off with a special visit to Rungis Market hosted by its President, Stéphane Layani.

Baskets of products twice a month
Twice a month, athletes will receive baskets of fresh produce selected from the stalls at Rungis Market: fruit and vegetables, seafood, meat, poultry, dairy, and gourmet products. This supply of fresh products, "some of them are high quality and some of them are local, will help meet their nutritional - and gustatory - needs throughout their physical preparation".

For Stéphane Layani, President of Rungis Market: " Rungis Market has always been involved in major sporting events, as we share many values: respect, fair play, pushing oneself to the limit... For this major event in 2024, we have chosen to highlight the virtues and benefits of quality food. By offering these athletes a selection of fresh products. We want to support them in their preparation for the events. Nutrition is one of the keys to making a difference, and even more so at the highest level."

This partnership adds to the festivities planned to celebrate the Olympic Flame's passage through the aisles of the world's largest fresh produce market on July 21, 2024.
