Azerbaijan remains a key supplier of tomatoes, persimmons, apples, cherries, and berries to Russia

According to materials from the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), the head of the organization, Sergey Dankvert, visited Azerbaijan on a working visit from November 15 to 17. As of October 29, 2023, Azerbaijan's agricultural exports to Russia increased by 11.3% in value compared to the same period in 2022. This growth is attributed to increased volumes of peaches, hazelnuts and strawberries.

Rosselkhoznadzor emphasizes that Azerbaijan maintains its leadership position in supplying tomatoes, persimmons, apples, cherries, and berries to Russia. The authorities on both sides welcomed agreements to simplify control procedures for the movement of products between the countries, based on the recognition of the equivalence of state supervision systems.
