Riverbend Orchards

"Lower volumes but exceptional brix levels"

After a late start to the harvest last season Riverbend Orchards are back on track with their nectarine and peach harvests.

"We started the harvest on 18 October it was early this year, about seven days earlier than a typical season and wet weather was not an issue this year!" said Sam De Maio Director and owner of Riverbend Orchard.

"We are not quite at normal volumes, some varieties have a good medium crop were others are very light especially our January fruit. We are sitting at around a 80% crop this season."

Despite lower volumes the quality of brix is exceptional. Even the smaller fruits are delicious and have great quality, this then leads to better overall better eating.

Riverbend Orchard exports to Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai, Vietnam, Philippines and earlier this week they sent their first consignment to China, this will be received this Saturday by the markets in chain.
