Peruvian fresh mango exports soared in September

According to data from the consulting firm Inform@cción, between August 1 and October 2, Peru exported 2,447,543 kilos of fresh mango, i.e. 950% more than the 233,115 kilos it exported in the same period of the previous year.

According to the president of Inform@cción, Fernando Cillóniz Benavides, Peru shipped 2,418,715 kilos of fresh mango in September 2023, a much higher volume than the 66,372 kilos it exported in the same month of the previous year.

"Specialists say that the mango has not flowered in this 2023/2024 (October-March) campaign, but if that were true there would have been no early fruit. The campaign has started well above expectations. However, we are going to wait to see how it goes, as production and exports are forecast to fall considerably," he concluded.
