Boasting almost 40 years of experience in the nursery world, Griba Vivai is a leading apple plant producer. The seven members of the cooperative currently produce over 2 million fruit plants.

Apples are one of the most popular fruits in the world. They are versatile, tasty and rich in essential nutrients. New varieties have been developed over the past few years that provide an even wider range of flavors and textures. Griba is part of this success story too and has never taken being the protagonist of apple cultivation for granted.
In 2008, Griba initiated its own program to develop new apple varieties with the objective of selecting high-quality fruits.

"For us, this means obtaining crunchy and juicy apples with a balanced ratio between sweetness and acidity, characterized by good appearance and shelf-life. Flavor remains the most important thing, but increasing attention is paid to the tolerance to various pathogens with an eye to reducing defense interventions, obtaining good productivity and achieving a better field management," adds Antonio Dal Ri, breeder at Griba.
Griba also works with varieties resistant to scab. Three selections will be available for tasting at Fruit Attraction Madrid 2023. There will also be a new varieties whose name, appearance and cultivation details will be revealed directly at the fair.
