Peruvian citrus exports to date have decreased by 17% over the previous year

According to data from Fresh Fruit, Peru exported 10,491 tons of citrus in the last week. This is 23% less volume than in the previous week, but 29% more than in the same week of last season. So far in the 2023 campaign, Peru has exported a total of 194,004 tons of citrus, i.e. 17% less than in 2022. "Given this scenario, this year citrus exports will most likely end up lower than last year," the consultant said.

This week, Peruvian citrus reached 23 destinations. The main destinations were the United States, followed by the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. Together, they accounted for 72% of all exports.

Peru exported a total of 3,930 tons to the United States, which accounted for a 37% share of all exports. Shipments to the Netherlands totaled 2,384 tons (23% share) and shipments to the United Kingdom amounted to 1,236 tons (12% share).
