Cédric Stadler, organic mushroom grower and president of the Swiss Mushroom Association VSP

"Organic mushroom market has developed positively and sales are satisfactory"

Since August 1, 2022, the Stadler mushroom farm has been producing organic mushrooms for the Swiss market. "We already conducted the first trials of organic production for mushrooms twenty years ago, but at that time there was no demand for the products on the market. In 2021, we received a request for organic mushrooms from Coop. The market situation changed and the demand for organic products and organic mushrooms increased and we changed. Consumers want healthy and sustainably produced food, that speaks for organic and we can guarantee that," says owner Cédric Stadler (right).

"The market has developed positively and sales are satisfactory," Stadler continues. "Consumers are sensitized to sustainable, safely produced products. Food security with sustainable productions and high-quality regional products will accompany us into the future. In this context, organic will continue to gain importance."
