The new "Divino – il kaki italiano" brand will be launched in Italy and Europe next fall: the brand was created and developed by Gallicchio Frutta, a company that focuses on the production, processing and commercialization of persimmons.

"We are currently defining the last technical, aesthetic and commercial aspects so that the first supplies to supermarkets and wholesale markets will be ready in mid-October. Divino will gather the Rojo Brillante productions coming exclusively from regions in Southern Italy, both owned by us and by our 15 partners. We want to guide consumers thanks to appealing and flavorful fruits with a uniform deep color, a firm and crunchy flesh, no seeds and a long shelf-life," commented administrator Francesca Gallicchio.

The company explains that the idea of launching a brand dedicated to firm persimmons came to them also after the excellent past few campaigns - especially the last one - and the feedback received from operators on produce quality, so much so that the campaign had to end earlier than expected.
"We have over 20 clients located in Italy, Germany, Poland, Malta, Denmark and Sweden. For 2023/24, persimmon volumes harvested at the right ripening stage then de-tanned will reach 1,300 ton compared to the 1,100 of the past season. We have been witnessing considerable imports of foreign produce, especially from Spain, for too long. Divino wants to be the alternative thanks to the twenty-year family experience and the professionalism of our producers."

All the packaging is made of cardboard and recyclable plastic available in the 1.2 and 5 kg options.
"We are hoping that Divino will become the Italian persimmon that can be eaten firm and with the peel, grown using sustainable techniques such as integrated control, reduced soil processing, monitoring of parasites and use of traps as well as responsible drip irrigation."
The company holds the GlobalGAP and GRASP certifications.
