A stable market with satisfactory prices and demand that is growing year after year without huge changes in quotations - this is what reported by "Domenico Laghi" from Forlì when it comes to Saturn peaches. "Compared with 2022, we will process many more quantities, around 50% more. That is because demand is on the up," reports collaborator Mirco Zoffoli.

Peaches come mostly from southern Italy, but there are a few producers in Romagna as well. "We process them entirely by hand, which guarantees a high quality. Prices for grades A hover around €1.60/kg and they are higher for AA. Quotations generally remain constant for this product and consumption is increasing because the fruits are very practical."

As for the general stone fruit market, Zoffoli reports that "nectarines do well in Italian retail chains, but only when it comes to grades above A. Prices are more than satisfactory for AA and AAA. We must consider, however, that quantities from Romagna were practically halved by the frost, hailstorms and the flood."
Abroad, the market is ruled by Spain. The small grades found in discount store punnets come mainly from Spain and the Italian produce struggles.

"When it comes to apricots, availability is lower than normal and prices are increasing. I believe there will be some good surprises over the next few weeks."
Things are not very lively for plums, as only the fruits with excellent organoleptic quality and large grades do well.
