Changed role with more proximity to customers

New market positioning and foundation of GES AG

"Dear customers and business partners, as part of its new market positioning, the Genossenschaft Gemüseerzeuger Seeland is becoming Gemüseerzeuger Seeland AG. With this milestone, GES wants to further develop its business model with more proximity of the producer to the customer and strengthen the Seeland as a valuable production location," write Ulrich Kilchhofer, President GES, Sam Zurbrügg, Managing Director GES, Matthias Zurflüh, Chairman of the Board of Directors GES AG, and Corinne Fernes, Managing Director GES AG.

The producers' organisation markets itself
"Since the founding of the Gemüseerzeuger Seeland AG (GES) on 24 May 2012, GES has been constantly developing its business activities. In order to be able to continue to exist in the future, the GES wants to perceive customer needs even better, increase profitability and focus even more on the proximity of the producers to the customers. Since spring 2023, GES has been marketing its products itself and supplying a partial range to the Migros Aare cooperative as a direct platform with two new service partners."

"Founding of GES AG for the further development of business activities"
"On 11 July 2023, the new GES AG was founded at the founders' meeting in Aarberg with 30 producers as shareholders. With the new AG, the structures for a strategic further development of the company's business activities are created. The Cooperative Vegetable Producers Seeland will be liquidated after a transitional phase of the operative business."

Board of directors and management
"In the new GES AG, four of the 30 shareholders will sit on the Board of Directors: Simon Hämmerli, Simon Van der Veer, Michael Moser and Stefan Rothermann. Matthias Zurflüh will complete the Board of Directors in his function as Chairman. Corinne Fernes will continue to manage the operational business of GES AG in the role of Managing Director and drive the implementation of the strategic goals."

"GES AG thanks its valued customers and business partners for their trust and will do its utmost to inspire its customers with quality and continuity from the region."
