Application shows hours of cold and helps with Brazilian fruit cultivation

The Institute of Rural Development of Paraná has presented an application that informs growers of the amount of accumulated hours of cold throughout the year. The objective of this innovation is to help producers and professionals of agricultural sciences in the State of Paraná to decide on the need to artificially stimulate the break of dormancy in cultures of temperate climate.

“Horas Frio Paraná” offers solutions for fruit trees such as apple and peach. If the sum of cold hours does not reach the amount required for a given crop, the dormancy break of the plants must be done with the application of agrochemicals. The application assists in this decision making.
