Polish fresh blueberries are allowed to enter the Chinese market

According to the relevant laws and regulations of China and the regulations of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Poland on the phytosanitary requirements of Polish fresh blueberries exported to China, the import of Polish fresh blueberries that meet the following relevant requirements has recently been allowed.

Orchards and packaging plants exporting to China must be audited and filed by the National Plant Health and Seed Inspection Agency representing the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Poland (hereinafter referred to as the "Polish side"), and approved by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the "Chinese side") for registration. Registration information includes name, address and registration number. Before the annual export season, the Polish side should provide the Chinese side with a registration list, which will be published on the official website of the General Administration of Customs after being reviewed and approved by the Chinese side.

The quarantine pests that China is concerned about include Godronia cassandrae, Diaporthe spp. (Diaporthe vaccinia, D. eres, D. rudis), Septoria albopunctata and others.

Orchards exported to China should establish and implement Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) to ensure the traceability of the production process. Maintain sanitary conditions in orchards, remove fallen and rotten fruits during harvest, and implement integrated pest management (IPM), such as pest monitoring, chemical or biological control, and agricultural operations.

The processing, packaging, storage and shipment of blueberries exported to China must be carried out under the quarantine supervision of Poland.

During the packaging process, blueberries exported to China must be removed from sick and deformed fruits, sorted, graded, and blown with compressed air to ensure that they are free from insects, mites, rotten fruits, branches, leaves, roots, and soil. If the packaged blueberries exported to China need to be stored, they should be stored immediately and stored separately to avoid re-infection by harmful organisms.

Within two years of the trade, the Polish side should conduct a sampling inspection of each batch of blueberries exported to China at a rate of 2%. If no phytosanitary problems occur within two years, the sampling ratio will be reduced to 1%. If living organisms of quarantine pests of concern to China are found, the entire batch of goods shall not be exported to China. Poland should find out the reason and take improvement measures. At the same time, the records should be kept and provided to the Chinese side upon request.
