Pune sees boost in mango exports from Maharashtra

Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board’s Export Facilitation Center at Vashi has witnessed a significant surge in mango exports. As of June 23, a total of 974.89 tons of mangoes have been exported, marking a remarkable increase of one and a half times compared to previous years. The biggest export share has gone to the United States.

Milind Joshi, Deputy General Manager of the Board of Marketing, provided insights into the export statistics. During this season, 41.64 tons were exported to Japan, 86.26 tons to New Zealand, 3.88 tons to South Korea, 0.46 tons to Malaysia, 27.29 tons to Australia, and 8.60 tons to European countries. However, the United States stands out with the highest export of 806 tons. In contrast, last year’s export amounted to 576 tons, whereas this year’s export has already reached 974.89 tons by the end of June 23.
