Peruvian citrus exports have decreased by 19% to date

According to Fresh Fruit, Peru has exported 49,592 tons of citrus so far this year, recording a 19% year-on-year decrease in exports. Two weeks ago, the country exported its biggest volume but last week but exported 7,258 tons, i.e. 3% less than in the same week of 2022.

That same week, Peruvian exported its citrus fruits to 19 destinations. The main destinations were the United States with a 35% share, China (21%), and the United Kingdom (17%).

Peru exported a total of 2,549 tons of citrus to the United States, i.e. 16% less than in the previous week and 39% less than in the same week of 2022.

China purchased 1,493 tons of citrus, i.e. 75% more than in the previous week and 58% more than in the same week of last year.

Finally, shipments to the United Kingdom totaled 1,236 tons. This was 28% lower than in the previous week, but almost twice as much as in the same week of last year.
