Despite all recent developments, the US dollar is still a powerhouse among the world’s currencies: It’s the money that’s most traded on the global stage by a wide margin and is often used as a yardstick for comparing currencies.

The dollar may not be the world’s strongest currency, but it’s up there near the top among the 180 or so traditional fiat currencies recognized as legal tender around the world.

At the opposite end of the scale are the world’s least valuable currencies, which trade at tiny fractions of a dollar. Often you need tens of thousands of units of foreign money to get just $1. We’ve identified the 10 weakest currencies in the world based on their relative value against the US dollar.
