The weighted average orange prices in the EU in May 2023 came in at €106 per 100 kgs. This is €26 above the 5-year average and about €30 above the number from last year.
EU monthly orange imports for 2022/23 came in at 102.544 tonnes in May. Most of these imports (101.140 tonnes) came from Egypt.
South Africa shipped in just 176 tonnes, Morocco sent over 253 tonnes and other sources complemented these imports with another 975 tonnes.
