Avocado campaign intends to boost sales and expand per capita consumption in Brazil

Abacates do Brasil has launched an initiative to promote avocado superharvest and impact retailers and consumers; actions include advertising film on free-to-air television, digital assets, OOH advertising and recipe videos.

On Monday, aiming to take advantage of the growth of avocados in Brazil and the super harvest of the product in the first quarter of this year, Associação Abacates do Brasil launched the campaign “Partiu Avocado”, with the city of São Paulo (SP) as the main performance square. As rarely seen in agribusiness, the entity promotes a marketing campaign to boost sales of the fruit and encourage the increase in per capita consumption in Brazil.

Super harvest
The avocado crop in Brazil, which generally lasts between March and August, is the result of a production of 300,000 tons of avocado in Brazil in 2021, considering all its variations. Of this total, around 114,000 tons (38%) come from Abacates do Brasil associates, whose planting areas total 6,778 hectares. The production of tropical avocado and avocado Hass has great potential to support the country's advancement in world fruit growing. Brazilian fruit production is currently the third largest on the planet, with 58 million tons in 2022, or 5.4% of international production.
