The United States and the Netherlands are the main markets

Peru's ginger shipments increased by 59%

The ginger export campaign is exceeding initial expectations, showing a 59% year-on-year increase in export volumes, as Peru has exported a total of 25,609 tons of ginger so far this season, according to Fresh Fruit data.

In fact, last week, Peru exported a total of 1,105 tons of ginger, i.e. 163% more than in the same week of last year. The United States was the main destination with a 41% share, followed by the Netherlands, with a 40% share, and Germany, with 8%. These three markets alone concentrated 89% of all shipments.

The United States received 447 tons, i.e. 16% less than in the previous week. The main Peruvian exporters to this destination were Agronegocios La Grama S.A.C., with a 19% share, Natural Produce of Peru E.I.R.L. (15%); and Blue Pacific Oils S.A. (14%).

The Netherlands purchased 439 tons, i.e. 42% less than in the previous week. The most outstanding companies in this market were JCH Organics SAC, with a 10.8% share; followed by Vancard Perú SAC (10.6%); and Agronegocios La Grama S.A.C. (10%).

Finally, Germany received 86 tons of Peruvian ginger. The main exporters were Gavilán Organic SAC, with 26%; followed by Elisur Organic SAC, (25%); and JOH. C. Henschen Perú SAC (25.1%).
