Kazakhstan's government has considered complex measures to control inflation

A meeting of the Kazakhstan government, chaired by Prime Minister Alihan Smailov, was devoted to discussing a complex of measures to control and reduce inflation for 2023-2024. These measures include steps to increase the production of domestic products, control pricing, antitrust, and foreign trade regulation. An important direction is increasing storage facilities for potatoes and other vegetables, loading stabilization funds for effective commodity interventions during the off-season, and identifying unproductive intermediaries.

This year, the cultivation area for potatoes, cabbage, carrots, and onions has been increased. A reserve of 139.5 thousand tons of vegetables was formed for the off-season, and 58.4 thousand tons have already been realized.

To smooth out seasonal price fluctuations during the off-season of 2024, around 100 thousand tons of vegetable products have already been contracted. Thus, the Kazakhstan government is taking active measures to increase the production and storage of vegetables to combat inflation.
