By the end of week 10 Peru had exported a total of 226,027 tons of fresh mango this season, i.e. 8% more than the 209,120 tons shipped in the same period of the previous season (2021/2022), as reported by the Peruvian Association of Mango Producers and Exporters (APEM).
To that date, the main destination for the fruit was Europe with 111,915 tons, accounting for 49.5% of the total. Shipments to this destination, however, decreased by 7.17% compared to the same period last season.
It was followed by the United States with 92,302 tons (+43%), accounting for 40.8% of the total, and at a greater distance Canada with 9,515 tons.
According to the APEM, in the same period of time, Peru exported 30,893 tons of frozen mango, i.e. 18.7% less than the 38,002 tons exported in the same period of the 2021/2022 campaign.
