Russia expects to maintain the volume of supplies of fruits and vegetables from Türkiye

Chairman of the Presidium of the Association of Retail Companies (AKORT) Igor Karavaev said that Russian retail chains do not experience any difficulties with the supply of vegetables and fruits from Türkiye and do not expect interruptions due to the earthquake.

"In general, Türkiye is a significant supplier of citrus fruits, stone fruits, and others. Until that time, the company had not received any refusals to deliver on earlier placed orders. Suppliers also confirm all new orders," the press service said, adding that "at the moment, the company's Turkish partners do not expect problems either with the current harvest or next season's harvest."

Russia is one of the major importers of fruits and vegetables from Türkiye. As reported by the Anadolu agency, over the past five years, 3 million 378 thousand tons of citrus fruits worth $1 billion and 877 million have been exported to the Russian Federation. The most in-demand citrus fruits on the Russian market are mandarins, followed by lemons, oranges, and grapefruits.
