Gert Last and Kristel Leugs, Mondipal:

"Fruit remains intact thanks to new fruit rack"

The Dutch company Mondipal has launched a new product, a fruit rack. "It prevents the fruit from being crushed or damaged. The fruit rack can be used with our nestable crates. You can stack the boxes with the deeper crates because using the fruit rack means the boxes don't touch each other, and the fruit remains undamaged," says Gert Last.

"Plastic crates offer many advantages. They're lightweight and made of HDPE material, which is 100% waterproof. Because the crates are plastic, water and mold don't affect the products, and bacteria stand no chance. Also, the crates are perforated so excess sand can be quickly washed away, and the crates can be cleaned at high temperatures."

"Plastic crates are used over and over in fruit cultivation, especially for smaller fruit. These fruits are fragile, so the crates are shallower. The crates are also manufactured in such a way as not to damage or crush the fruit. You can stack these crates too, so they take up little space," Gert explains.

Whether it be plastic crates, bins, or pallets, Mondipal has supplied fruit sector companies for many years. "With us, fruit companies can choose to purchase or rent," adds Kristel Leugs. "We can supply the crates in the company's color or even with their logo, too, allowing customers to create customized crates. Of course, we cannot deliver customized crates within two business days, but people are happy to wait for unique crates," she concludes.
