The CC.OO.-PV and UGT-PV syndicates have announced that the citrus harvesters' strike has been definitively called off because the workers and employer associations have reached an initial agreement regarding the collective agreement of the citrus harvesting sector of the Valencian Community.
"In the absence of the drafting of the agreement, the points in which the parties disagreed and that led to the strike, have been left as follows," the CC.OO.-PV stated. The pre-agreement reached includes a 3% salary increase for day labor and a 2% increase for piecework during the 2022-2023 campaign, as well as three 2% increases in the successive campaigns (2023-2024, 2024-2025, 2025-2026), both for day labor and piecework.
Regarding the salary review clause, "the difference between the increase in CPIs calculated from September to August of each of the campaigns, with the daily wage, will be applied to the tables of the 2026-2027 campaign, with a maximum limit of 2.5%."
"In the event that the CPI by 31-8-2026 is lower than the previous differential, 2.5% will be applied to the salaries of the 2026-2027 campaign and this will be the definitive increase for these tables, which can't be renegotiated for that campaign."
The unions have also agreed to increase the guaranteed minimum wage to 9.45 euro/hour for the duration of the agreement. Finally, unpaid leave may be split twice for each campaign, respecting previous agreements that improve this split in each company.
