Aweta: "Performance" and "Simplicity" to respond to the shortage of labor

This year the apple kingdom, Trentino-Alto Adige, had to face labour shortages that risk compromising the apple harvest season.

The problem of staff shortages in the fruit and vegetable sector is increasingly alarming and fruit and vegetable companies often have to resort to technological solutions to make up for this shortage and increase their productivity.

Aweta, a leader in the supply of selection and packaging systems for apples, proposes a solution based on two concepts: "performance" and "simplicity".

Aweta through its technological proposals helps companies to improve their performance.

The result of years of continuous innovation, the apple grader Calistar is the most loved in the industry. All its mechanical, electrical and electronic components are designed above the floor, and do not come into contact with water. This leads to a drastic reduction in the incidence of any damage or errors that require production stops and maintenance interventions.

Furthermore, thanks to the Ultravision external defect selection system and the Inscan internal quality selection system, the fruit and vegetable growers and packers can count on highly reliable quality selection systems, with a significant reduction in costs for sorting personnel. However, managing such complex technological systems can be difficult. With the growing shortage of manpower, it is increasingly hard to find specialized operators to control complex lines and at the same time it can be difficult to find the time during the season to adequately train the staff. It is then extremely necessary to simplify as much as possible the activities of the operator.

For this reason, Aweta has concentrated its efforts on equipping its installations with a new grader management interface that is even more user-friendly: the name is Flowmaster, it is very simple and intuitive, suitable for any type of skill level.

All important information is visible in a single screen and the operator can see in real time the distribution of the product based on the selection parameters. Creating and editing programs and articles is quick and easy. In addition, as regards the quality selection parameters, the thresholds can be changed with a simple cursor and the operator has live images at his disposal that shows the results of the change. The operator will be able to learn the program simply by using it.

On the occasion of Interpoma fair in Bolzano from 17th to 19th November, Aweta will be present with a demo sizer at booth C21 / 62 and you will have the opportunity to test the simplicity of the new Flowmaster interface.
