The prices of fresh produce have increased in the Philippines following the damage and shortages brought about by the severe tropical storm "Paeng" in the country. The increases are taking place despite suggested retail prices introduced by the local Department of Agriculture (DA).
Spicy wild chili reached a high of P700 kg ($12), red onions up to P260 kg ($4.46), tomatoes P140 kg ($2.4), potatoes P140 kg ($2.4) all nearly double the suggested prices, as found by inspections done by the DA.
