Almaverde Bio islands register positive semester and +11.5% in June

Almaverde Bio islands boast a trend that is opposite to that of the recent data reporting a drop in the consumption of organic produce in the retail chain.

After two problematic years that saw a crisis for large surfaces, sales for Almaverde Bio islands - the branded display stands dedicated exclusively to organic fresh and fresh-cut produce managed by Canova srl - were extremely positive during the first semester of 2022, gaining 11.5% compared to last year in June alone.

Canova reports that there are mainly three key factors behind this trend in contrast with the general data.

"First of all, the continuity of the quality standard that can be easily and visually perceived by consumers is essential. The range depth makes it possible to set up promotional activities focused on the concept of affordability intended as a combination of product, sales units and checkout price and not as merely a price cut. This makes the difference when it comes to consumer perception, plus managing the production directly and having the direct management of sales creates a virtuous circle that helps quickly transform the opportunities provided by production into buying opportunities."

There are currently 44 Almaverde Bio islands all over the national territory, different according to the various stores and sometimes featuring specialized personnel. The islands are not just simple sale spaces, as they are important sources of information dedicated to organic produce, product seasonality and possible uses, and represent an innovative tool to take advantage of the market potential with an articulated supply.

Almaverde Bio islands, which are managed directly by Canova Srl, are a formula that guarantees results to big retail chains, as the products and services are identified without the need for management by the store.
